Yttrium Bromide Anhydrous YBr3 CAS 13469-98-2 For Chemical Reagent

Anhydrous yttrium bromide (YBr₃) is a white solid with a high melting point and high stability. It is relatively stable in air, but decomposes when exposed to heat. Anhydrous yttrium bromide has a wide range of applications in optical materials, especially in flashbulbs, lasers and optical fibers. In addition, it can also be used as a catalyst to catalyze carbon-carbon coupling reaction and aromatization reaction in organic synthesis reactions. Anhydrous yttrium bromide can also be used to prepare pure yttrium metal, further expanding its application field. Due to its unique physicochemical properties, anhydrous yttrium bromide plays an important role in technology and industry.

    product detail

Name: anhydrous yttrium bromide, yttrium bromide ultra dry                         CAS: 13469-98-2

Molecular formula: YBr3                                                                                    Molecular weight: 328.62

Description: The yttrium oxide or hydroxide is dissolved in hydrobromic acid, evaporated, concentrated, cooled, washed with ethanol and ether to obtain its hexahydrate. The latter is dehydrated iwith ammonium bromide, and then heated in the helium gas stream at 600 ℃ to obtain the anhydrous yttrium bromide.
