High-purity and ultra-high-purity Rare Earth products can be made into new materials with multiple functions and are widely used in the preparation of industrial products and cutting-edge defense fields. The purity of rare earth oxides determines the performance of materials. The purity of rare earth oxides refers to the ratio of the mass of a specific rare earth oxide in a product to the total mass of rare earth oxides in the product, recorded as Re2O3/TREO (total mass of rare earth oxides). According to the purity, it can be divided into: low-purity products with a purity not higher than 99%, high-purity products with a purity of 99.9% to 99.99%, and ultra-high-purity products with a purity of 99.999% and above.

At present, the industry mostly uses the extraction method to produce rare earth oxides. This method is suitable for the production of large quantities of ordinary purity rare earth oxides. In order to obtain ultra-high purity rare earth oxide products, extraction resin chromatography or ion membrane exchange method is used for further separation and purification.
