Europium(II) iodide anhydrous EuI2 CAS 22015-35-6 For Scintillation Crystal Doping

Anhydrous europium iodide is a chemical that usually appears as a light red or brown crystal with some water solubility. Its chemical formula is EuI2, with a molar mass of 405.773 g/mol and a density of about 5.5g/cm3. The preparation process of anhydrous europium iodide can be obtained by dissolving europium oxide in hydroiodic acid, and then through evaporation and crystallization. In addition, high purity anhydrous europium iodide can also be prepared by NH4I dewatering. Anhydrous europium iodide has important applications in scientific and industrial fields, such as the preparation of SrI2:Eu2+ scintillator crystals, and as a dopant to improve the stability of red fluorescent organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite structure MAPbI3 quantum dots.
