Cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate CoCl2 CAS 7791-13-1 As a supplement to cobalt

Cobalt chloride is an inorganic compound, soluble in water and many organic solvents. It changes to red cobalt dichloride hexahydrate in humid air. Cobalt chloride has multiple industrial applications, such as analytical reagents, humidity indicators, ammonia absorbers, and positive electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries, which can improve the energy density and cycle stability of batteries. In addition, it is used in the manufacture of cobalt oxide, metallic cobalt, and electronic materials as alloy materials. In the field of medicine, cobalt chloride can stimulate bone marrow to promote red blood cell production, which is used to treat anemia and other diseases. However, it should be noted that cobalt chloride is toxic and appropriate safety measures should be taken when used.

    product detail

Name: Cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate                               Molecular formula: CoCl2

    CAS: 7791-13-1                                                                  Molecular weight: 147.85

Description: The production of cobalt chloride adopts the cobalt metal method and the cobalt containing waste method. In industry, metal processing is generally used and cobalt containing waste materials from the electronics industry are used as raw materials, dissolved with mixed acids (hydrochloric acid and nitric acid). Add hydrochloric acid to the reactor, then add cobalt containing waste for reaction at 80 ℃, and add nitric acid appropriately depending on the dissolution of cobalt metal. Purify the cobalt chloride solution with hydrogen peroxide to remove iron. If the solution pH is less than 5, add sodium carbonate or ammonia to ensure complete purification. The purified cobalt chloride solution is adjusted to a pH of 2-3 by calculus, and the finished product is obtained through filtration, evaporation, crystallization, and separation.
